Description:
Guido Landi has discovered some vulnerabilities in CoolPlayer, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerabilities are caused due to boundary errors when processing playlists (".m3u" or ".pls" files). These can be exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows when loading a playlist containing an overly long, specially crafted filename either starting with a backslash character or not.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 219. Other versions may also be affected.
