Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in Sun Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error and can be exploited to cause the system to hang or to cause a system panic (if the "deadman" feature is enabled) via the pthread_mutex_reltimedlock_np(3C) API.

The vulnerability is reported in Solaris 10 for both the SPARC and x86 platforms.

Solution:
Apply patches.

OpenSolaris:
Fixed in build snv_90 or later.

Solaris 10:
Apply patch 137112-04 or later.
