Description: Core Security Technologies has reported a vulnerability in Sun xVM VirtualBox, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the VBoxDrv.sys driver when handling certain IOCTLs. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges on a vulnerable host.
Note: This only affects the Windows version.
The vulnerability is reported in Sun xVM VirtualBox 1.6.0 and 1.6.2. Other versions prior to 1.6.4 may also be affected.
