Description:
A security issue has been reported in Microsoft BitLocker, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose sensitive information.

The security issue is caused due to the BIOS keyboard buffer not being properly flushed when pre-boot authentication is used and can be exploited to disclose the used password.

Successful exploitation requires that BitLocker is configured to use a TPM chip.

The security issue is reported in Microsoft BitLocker included Windows Vista without Service Pack 1.

Solution:
The security issue is reportedly fixed in Windows Vista Service Pack 1.
