James Bercegay has discovered some vulnerabilities in Advanced Electron Forum (AEF), which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerabilities are caused due to insecure calls of "preg_replace()" with the "e" modifier. These can be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary PHP code e.g. via the "email" tag when posting to the forum.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.0.6. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 1.0.7.
