Some vulnerabilities have been reported in ReVou Twitter Clone, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions and by malicious users to potentially compromise a vulnerable system.
1) The "adminlogin/password.php" script improperly checks for a valid session prior to changing passwords. This can be exploited to change the administrator's password via a specially crafted HTTP POST request to the affected script.
NOTE: Reportedly the vulnerability can be further exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a malicious PHP file.
2) Files passed for upload to "settings/my_photo" are not properly verified before being saved in the web root. This can be exploited to upload arbitrary PHP files and potentially execute arbitrary PHP code.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may require valid user credentials.
Solution: Restrict access to the "settings" and "adminlogin" directories to trusted users only.
