Description: A vulnerability has been reported in libvirt, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to potentially gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the "proxyReadClientSocket()" function in proxy/libvirt_proxy.c. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted proxy request.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code with root privileges.
The vulnerability is reported in version 0.5.1. Prior versions may also be affected.
