Description

Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Oracle BEA WebLogic products. One has an unknown impact, others can be exploited by malicious users to gain escalated privileges or compromise a vulnerable system, and by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions, disclose sensitive information, cause a DoS (Denial of Service), or compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Insufficient validation of HTTP requests by the WebLogic Server Plugins can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted HTTP request.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow execution of arbitrary code.

This vulnerability is confirmed in WebLogic Server Plugins version 1.0.1166819 and reportedly affects the following products and versions:

* Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3
* Oracle WebLogic Server 10.0 released through MP1
* Oracle WebLogic Server 9.2 released through MP3
* Oracle WebLogic Server 9.1
* Oracle WebLogic Server 9.0
* Oracle WebLogic Server 8.1 released through SP6
* Oracle WebLogic Server 7.0 released through SP7


2) A boundary error in the WebLogic Server Plugins when parsing SSL certificates can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow execution of arbitrary code.
