A vulnerability has been reported in OpenBSD, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an integer overflow within the "fts_build()" function in src/lib/libc/gen/fts.c when processing deeply nested directories. This can be exploited to crash applications using certain fts routines (e.g. "rm", "du", "chgrp", and "chown") via specially crafted directory trees.
The vulnerability is reported in version 4.3 and 4.4. Other versions may also be affected.
