A vulnerability has been discovered in Icarus, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when handling Portable Game Notation files. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted Portable Game Notation file (*.pgn).
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.0. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Do not open Portable Game Notation files from untrusted sources.
