A security issue has been discovered in Secure Computing SmartFilter, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose potentially sensitive information.
The security issue is caused due to certain files (e.g. config.txt and admin_backup.xml) being stored with insecure permissions in the server\config\ directory. This can be exploited to e.g. disclose the password of the HTTP proxy or authentication server.
The security issue is confirmed in SmartFilter Web Gateway Security 4.2.1.00. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Restrict access to trusted users only.
