A vulnerability has been reported in Fortinet FortiClient, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error when processing VPN connection names. This can be exploited to read and write arbitrary memory with SYSTEM privileges via a specially crafted VPN connection name.
The vulnerability is reported in version 3.0.614. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 3.0 MR7 Patch Release 6.
