A vulnerability has been reported in IronPort AsyncOS, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
Input passed via the "referrer" parameter to the "login" script of the Spam Quarantine feature is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerability is reported in IronPort Series C, M, and X appliances running AsyncOS versions prior to 6.5.2.
NOTE: IronPort Series S appliances are not affected.
Solution: Update to version 6.5.2, or apply fixes by using the upgrade command from the command line interface or by using the System Upgrade option in the graphical user interface (GUI).
