Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in Cyrus SASL, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially compromise an application using the library.

The vulnerability is caused due to the unsafe use of the "sasl_encode64()" function in lib/saslutil.c, which under certain circumstances can lead to buffer overflows.

The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 2.1.23.
