pyrokinesis has discovered a vulnerability in jetAudio, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the jetCast component when processing song titles. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by tricking the user into opening e.g. an MP3 or FLAC file containing an overly long title.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed JetCast.exe version 18.104.22.1689 included in jetAudio versions 7.5.2 and 22.214.171.124. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Do not open untrusted files using the jetCast component.
