Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in the Compress::Raw::Zlib module for Perl, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or to potentially compromise an application using the module.

The vulnerability is caused due to an off-by-one error within the "inflate()" function in Zlib.xs. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow with a zero byte when specially crafted compressed data is processed.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 2.017.
