Description: Gjoko Krstic has discovered a vulnerability in eEye Retina WiFi Scanner, which can be exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the handling ".rws" files. This can be exploited to overflow a buffer in the .data section by tricking a user into opening a ".rws" file having an overly long "RWS010" entry.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in Retina WiFi Scanner version 1.0.8.68 included in Retina Network Security Scanner demo version 5.10.14. Other versions may also be affected.
