A vulnerability has been reported in SAP NetWeaver Business Client, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "SapThemeRepository" ActiveX control (sapwdpcd.dll) when processing the "Load" and "LoadTheme" methods and can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long string.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
Solution: Apply patch (please see SAP's security note 1519966).
Provided and/or discovered by: Alexandr Polyakov and Alexey Sintsov, Digital Security Research Group, reported via ZDI.
