Description

Some vulnerabilities have been reported in MAXcms, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information and compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to multiple parameters in various files is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local or external resources.

2) Input passed to the "thCMS_root" parameter in includes/inc.thcms_admin_dirtree.php is not properly verified before being used to read files. This can be exploited to read arbitrary files from local resources.

3) Input passed to the "fm_includes_special" parameter in includes/file_manager/special.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local or external resources.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities may require that "register_globals" is enabled.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 3.11.20b. Other versions may also be affected.

Update to version 3.16.9, which fixes vulnerability #1.
