Description:
Debian has issued an update for memcached. This fixes some vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerabilities are caused due to errors when converting integers and can be exploited to cause heap-based buffer overflows.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

NOTE: memcached runs with root privileges on Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 alias etch.
