Description: Luigi Auriemma has reported a vulnerability in PunkBuster, which can be exploited to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in pbsv.dll. This can be exploited e.g. via a specially crafted packet to cause a buffer overflow.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is reported in version 1.728. Other versions may also be affected.
NOTE: The vulnerability is reportedly exploitable via Soldier of Fortune II with PunkBuster enabled.
