Description: A vulnerability has been reported in Cisco Firewall Services Module (FWSM), which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in one of the NPs (Network Processors) when handling certain ICMP traffic, which may result in all available execution threads being exhausted. This can be exploited via multiple specially crafted ICMP messages to cause the module to stop forwarding traffic and stop accepting management traffic until reloaded.
