Description:
Brad Antoniewicz has discovered a vulnerability in ntop, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to a NULL-pointer dereference error within the "checkHTTPpassword()" function in http.c. This can be exploited to crash the application via a basic authentication request containing an authorization header without a colon character.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 3.3.10. Other versions may also be affected.
