Description

Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Perforce Server, where one has an unknown impact and others can be exploited to cause a DoS.

1) An error can be exploited to cause an infinite loop in the "P4S.exe" process via a specially crafted packet sent to port 1666/TCP.

2) An error can be exploited to cause a crash in the "P4S.exe" process via a specially crafted packet sent to port 1666/TCP.

3) An unspecified error has an unknown impact.

The vulnerabilities are reported in Perforce Server 2008.1/160022. Other versions may also be affected.

4) Another error can be exploited to cause a crash in the "P4S.exe" process via a specially crafted packet sent to port 1666/TCP.

5) An input validation error exists, which allows creating files with a ",v" extension in arbitrary directories via directory traversal sequences in the file name.

Solution
Restrict network access to the affected service. Due to the very limited available information, it is not possible to suggest an effective workaround.

Provided and/or discovered by
Reported as modules included in VulnDisco Pack.
