Description: Ubuntu has acknowledged a security issue in pam, which can lead to the bypass of certain security restrictions.
An error within the pam-auth-update utility can result in an insecure configuration under certain circumstances, which allows logins with any password.
Successful exploitation requires that e.g. libterm-readline-gnu-perl is not installed, the debconf priority is set to medium or lower, and the readline interface is used.
NOTE: This does not affect Ubuntu default installations.
