Where:

From remote

Impact:

Security Bypass, Manipulation of data

Solution Status:

Vendor Patch

CVE Reference(s):

Description

jdc has discovered a vulnerability in the BF Survey Pro component for Joomla, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.

Input passed via the "table" POST parameter to index.php (when "option" is set to "com_bfsurvey_profree" and "task" to "updateOnePage") is not properly sanitised before being used in an SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation allows e.g. to reset the administrator's password and gain administrative access to the Joomla installation.

The vulnerability is confirmed in BF Survey Pro Free version 1.2.4 and also reported in BF Survey Basic version 1.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to BF Survey Pro version 1.2.6 or BF Survey Basic version 1.1.

Provided and/or discovered by:
