Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in the Altirix eXpress NS SC Download ActiveX control, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to the Altiris.AeXNSPkgDL.1 ActiveX control ("AeXNSPkgDLLib.dll") providing the insecure "DownloadAndInstall()" method. This can be exploited to download and execute arbitrary programs by tricking a user into visiting a malicious website.

The vulnerability is reported in AeXNSPkgDLLib.dll version 6.0.0.1418, Altiris Deployment Solution version 6.9.x, Altiris Notification Server version 6.0.x, and Symantec Management Platform version 7.0.x. Other versions may also be affected.
