Description:
Marc Ruef has reported a vulnerability in IBM Lotus Notes, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the RSS widget when processing feed content. This can be exploited to potentially open arbitrary HTML files in an Internet Explorer local zone context when previewing a feed.

Successful exploitation requires that a user using Lotus Notes under a "Standard Configuration" is tricked into subscribing to a malicious RSS feed.

The vulnerability is reported in versions 8.0 and 8.5. Other versions may also be affected.
