Description:
Red Hat has issued an update for the kernel. This fixes a weakness, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially gain escalated privileges.

The weakness is caused due to a NULL pointer dereference error within the "suspend_lo_store()" and "suspend_hi_store()" functions in drivers/md/md.c, which can be exploited to e.g. crash the kernel by modifying the sysfs "suspend_lo" and "suspend_hi" files of the Multiple Devices driver.

Note: Successful exploitation requires that the attacker is able to write to the affected files (only "root" by default).
