Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Poppler, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or potentially compromise an application using the library.
1) Two vulnerabilities are caused due to the use of vulnerable Xpdf code.
For more information see vulnerabilities #1 and #2 in: SA37053
2) An integer overflow error exists in the "create_surface_from_thumbnail_data()" function in glib/poppler-page.cc. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted PDF file.
Solution: Update to version 0.12.2.
Provided and/or discovered by: 2) Red Hat credits Ludwig Nussel.
