Description:
Debian has issued an update for linux-2.6. This fixes a security issue and some vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose system and sensitive information or cause a DoS (Denial of Service), and by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

1) An error within the "ecryptfs_unlink()" function in fs/ecryptfs/inode.c can be exploited to cause a NULL pointer dereference by performing certain file operations on an eCryptfs mount.

2) An error within the "rtl8169_rx_interrupt()" function in drivers/net/r8169.c can be exploited to cause a DoS due to resource exhaustion by e.g. sending jumbo frame pings.
