Description: A vulnerability has been reported in the Shibboleth Identity and Service Provider, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and potentially script insertion attacks.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the sanitation of certain URLs. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when malicious data is viewed.
Successful exploitation within the Identity Provider requires that relying of anonymous parties is enabled (enabled by default in 1.3x and disabled by default in 2.x).
