Description

Christophe Devine has reported some vulnerabilities in MuPDF, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise an application using the library.

The vulnerabilities are caused due to boundary errors within the "pdf_loadtype4shade()", "pdf_loadtype5shade()", "pdf_loadtype6shade()", and "pdf_loadtype7shade()" functions in mupdf/pdf_shade4.c. This can be exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows by e.g. tricking a user into opening a specially crafted PDF file in an application using the library.
