A vulnerability has been reported in Asterisk, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the handling of RTP comfort noise payloads. This can be exploited to cause a crash by sending an RTP comfort noise payload containing a data length of 24 bytes or greater.
