Description

A vulnerability has been reported in The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed via the "msg" parameter in searchform.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerability is reported in version 7.1.2. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.

This has been patched in the latest release of TNG.
