A security issue has been discovered in kandalf upper, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The security issue is caused due to the upper.php script improperly validating uploaded files. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a malicious PHP script with multiple extensions.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires that Apache is not configured to handle the mime-type for media files with an e.g. "gif", "jpg", or "jpeg" extension.
The security issue is confirmed in version 0.1. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Restrict access to the upper.php script (via e.g. via .htaccess).
