A security issue and a vulnerability have been reported in CNR Hikaye Portal, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information and conduct SQL injection attacks.
1) The security issue is caused due to the "db/hikaye.mdb" database file being stored with insecure permissions inside the web root. This can be exploited to gain knowledge of sensitive information by downloading the file.
2) Input passed via the "id" parameter to hikaye.asp is not properly sanitised before being used SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
The security issue and vulnerability are reported in version 2.0. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Place the database file outside the webroot. Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
