Description

A vulnerability has been reported in VMware Remote Console, which can be exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error in the VMware Remote Console (VMrc) plugin and can be exploited to potentially corrupt memory via a specially crafted web page.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.


Solution
Update to a fixed version by visiting WebAccess on an updated vCenter 4.0 or ESX 4.0 system. Please see the vendor's advisory for more information.
