Description

Some security issues have been reported in IBM Systems Director Agent, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to potentially bypass certain security restrictions.

The security issues are caused due to e.g. world execute permissions being set for the "diruninstall" and "wcitinst" scripts. This can be exploited to potentially perform certain restricted actions by executing the scripts.

The security issues are reported in version 6.1.2. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Restrict local access to trusted users only. The security issues will reportedly be fixed in version 6.1.2.3.
