Description

Red Hat has issued an update for brltty. This fixes a security issue, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to potentially gain escalated privileges.

The security issue is caused due to /usr/lib/brltty/libbrlttybba.so using an insecure relative RPATH (runtime library search path) set in the ELF header. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into executing an application using the library in an attacker controlled directory.

Solution
Updated packages are available via Red Hat Network.
