Two vulnerabilities have been reported in IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence, where one has an unknown impact and the other can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

1) An unspecified error exists. No further information is currently available.

2) Input passed to the "pathinfo" parameter in cognos.cgi is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 8.4.1 FP1.

Update to version 8.4.1 FP1 or later.
