Two vulnerabilities have been discovered in gpEasy CMS, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks and by malicious people to conduct cross-site request forgery attacks.
1) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. add an administrative user by tricking an administrative user into visiting a malicious web site.
2) Input passed via the "gpcontent" parameter to index.php when creating or editing content is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious data is being viewed.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires "Edit" permissions.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.6.2. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 1.6.3 or later.
