A vulnerability has been reported in IBM Communications Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing APPC (Advanced Program-to-Program Communications) packets. This can be exploited to crash an affected server via a specially crafted APPC packet defining a GDSID variable with an overly small length.
The vulnerability is reported in the following products:
* IBM Communications Server for AIX 6.3
* IBM Communications Server for Windows 6.1.3
