John Leitch has discovered a vulnerability in The Uniform Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site request forgery attacks.
The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to change configured administrative passwords if a logged-in administrator visits a specially crafted web site.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 5.6.5. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Set passwords for all sensitive resources. Do not browse untrusted sites or follow links from untrusted sources when being logged-in to the application.
