Xuanyuan Smart has reported a vulnerability in Kingsoft WebShield, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or potentially gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the KAVSafe.sys driver when processing IOCTLs. This can be exploited to corrupt kernel memory and potentially execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges via a specially crafted 830020D4h IOCTL.
The vulnerability is reported in version 184.108.40.206. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to the latest Kingsoft WebShield version.
