Description


Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Python, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerabilities are caused due to errors within the "audioop_getsample()", "audioop_max()", "audioop_minmax()", "audioop_avg()", "audioop_rms()", "audioop_avgpp()", "audioop_maxpp()", "audioop_cross()", "audioop_mul()", "audioop_tomono()", "audioop_add()", "audioop_bias()", "audioop_reverse()", "audioop_lin2ulaw()", "audioop_lin2alaw()", "audioop_lin2adpcm()", "audioop_tostereo()", "audioop_lin2lin()", "audioop_ratecv()", "audioop_ulaw2lin()", "audioop_alaw2lin()", and "audioop_adpcm2lin()" functions within audioop.c of the audioop module not properly verifying if the string length is a multiple of the "size" parameter, which can be exploited to e.g. cause a crash.


Solution:
Fixed in Python 2.7.
