A vulnerability has been discovered in Zabbix, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
Various input is not properly sanitised by the "formatQuery()" function of the "Curl" class in frontends/php/include/classes/class.curl.php before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected website.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.8.2. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 1.8.3.
Provided and/or discovered by: Reported as a normal bug by alixen. Later independently reported as cross-site scripting vulnerabilities in frontends/php/tr_status.php by Vupen.
