Fedora has issued an update for ssmtp. This fixes a weakness, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The weakness is caused due to an error when removing trailing newline characters while processing lines starting with a dot. This can be exploited to cause ssmtp to terminate by sending specially crafted email messages.
Solution: Apply updated packages using the yum utility ("yum update ssmtp").
