A vulnerability has been reported in the Linux Kernel, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the "irda_bind()" function in net/irda/af_irda.c when trying to free certain objects. This can be exploited to e.g. cause a NULL pointer dereference by trying to bind an AF_IRDA socket and causing an error.
Solution: Update to version 2.6.36.
