A vulnerability has been reported in Squid, which can be exploited by malicious users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to certain internal Squid string processing routines not properly checking for NULL pointers, which can be exploited to e.g. cause a NULL pointer dereference by sending specially crafted requests.
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 3.1.8 and 18.104.22.168.
Solution: Update to version 3.1.8 and 22.214.171.124 or apply patches.
